Living Kitchen to Open in Downtown Raleigh

Raleigh, NC – Living Kitchen, a full-service restaurant offering 100% organic, plant-based food and beverages, will open a new location in downtown Raleigh later this year. The restaurant will be the second location from the team that developed the successful restaurant, Luna’s Living Kitchen, currently operating in Charlotte’s historic South End. Located in the recently completed Charter Square building at 555 Fayetteville Street, the new location will offer the same menu and service as the Charlotte restaurant in an environment designed to highlight the modern and sophisticated character of Charter Square.

Living Kitchen strives to bring an upscale and elegant approach to the preparation and service of plant-based cuisine. Colombian-born founder, Juliana Luna, draws from her South American heritage to create vibrant and richly flavored dishes using an array of organic spices and creative techniques. All of the food is prepared from scratch using organics ingredients that are locally sourced when available. The dishes are artfully presented and delivered to guests with a friendly, yet sophisticated style of service.

Juliana views the growth of Living Kitchen as the growth of community and happiness. “I want as many people as possible to understand that preparing food is an act of love and that living foods truly have the ability to make people feel more alive. I tell my chefs to leave their heart on each plate, and they take that seriously!” She hopes to achieve the same dedicated following in Raleigh that they’ve found in Charlotte through their attention to detail and contagious passion for their craft.

The Living Kitchen team selected Raleigh-based Louis Cherry Architecture to design the new restaurant interior. “After reviewing his portfolio, we knew immediately that Louis had the perfect design philosophy to capitalize on the grandeur of the space with 20-foot windows overlooking the Performing Arts Center to the south, while maintaining the comfortable and casual environment that is so important to our customers,” said Stephen Edwards, President of Living Kitchen.

According to Louis Cherry, “The Charter Square space is a fantastic setting with soaring space and lots of natural light. We were able to create a dining and socializing environment that is crisp and clean with the warmth of natural materials.” Edwards commented on the significance of the move to Raleigh. “We chose Raleigh because of its welcoming culture and growing interest in plant-based foods. Raleigh, like Charlotte, is a community that supports and encourages healthy living, but also emerging concepts and new dining trends.” He went on to add, “We look forward to becoming a part of this vibrant city and connecting with like-minded people in the area.”
